“Hi, I’m Lee. I’m a Master Technician at my local Porsche dealership. I love everything Porsche and VW - actually pretty much anything with a motor. I own a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle and spend a fair bit of time cleaning it and fixing it up!
Since the summer, I have been an ambassador for Moonshine and have since been using their entire product range. I can wholeheartedly say that their products are awesome and come highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed.
Moonshine is not like your typical detailing brands. They have made a very conscious effort to do their bit for the environment. However unlike some other brands with the same environmental stance, they haven't substituted the quality of the detailing product itself. Instead they have concentrated on the packaging. By using glass bottles, it's more friendly to our planet by reducing plastic waste. Also with their refill service, its kinder on our bank accounts! That’s important too. Their stockist and refill stations are expanding all over the UK and so it’s a win-win!
I must admit I was a little unsure on the idea of using glass bottles. I felt they might have been a little awkward to use but actually, I’ve been really impressed by the way the glass spray bottles feel in my hand.
I am often asked in what order I use the products. Here is what works for me.
First, I start by spraying each wheel, one at a time, using Purge Wheel Cleaner. I use a wheel brush to clean the wheel whilst it is wet with Purge. Then rinse the wheel thoroughly before repeating the process on the next wheel.
I then use Ripper, a Citrus Pre- Wash, to get rid of the grime and bugs etc. Gently rub if needed and then rinse the car thoroughly.
I then spray the entire car (including the wheels) with Purify (Iron Out) and allow it to activate. I normally leave it for a couple of minutes or so, being careful to not let it dry on. I then spray Froth (Snow Foam) over the Iron Out. I leave it on for approximately 10 minutes to let it do its thing - being careful not to let it dry on! I then rinse it all off thoroughly.
Once that's done, I’m ready to wash with Flawless (Shampoo) using the two bucket method. Followed by a thorough rinse.
I then apply QuickShine (Quick Detailer) whilst the body is still wet and use it as a drying aid. I find that it leaves behind an impressive glossy shine. The outside now looks like new - an undisputed improvement!
The interior products do not disappoint. Calibre (interior cleaner) is a superb interior trim dressing leaving behind an anti-static matt finish. It's so easy to use. I spray it on the interior trim, work it in and wipe with a microfiber cloth. As easy as that!
You will be pleased with the results. It’s worth the effort and the products do most of the work! It works for me every time.
